What Is Psychotherapy, And How Does It Work?
Psychotherapy is a form of treatment that focuses on helping individuals improve their mental health and well-being. It works by establishing a collaborative relationship between a therapist and client, setting goals, and using various therapeutic techniques. Through guided discussions and interventions, clients gain insights, develop coping skills, and achieve personal growth.

How Do I Know If I Need Psychotherapy?
If you are struggling in your day to day, feeling unhappy, unfulfilled, unsettled, or like something is missing in your life, therapy may be right for you. Therapy and the therapeutic relationship can be a helpful way to receive support and guidance through your journey of challenge and change. If you’re not sure if therapy is right for you, please book a 15-minute consult call with us so we can help you assess your individual needs.

When Will I Hear Back From You?
Please allow 1-2 business days for us to respond to your email or phone queries. We will ensure to get back to you as soon as possible!

Why Do I Have To Fill Out So Many Forms Before My Appointment?
The most important form, and the form required for our start to treatment, is the Client Intake and Consent Form. The province mandates that there is a signed copy of your consent to treatment. The Brief Intake Form lets us know about why you are reaching out for service, to provide a bit of information for the therapist before the first session. The other forms, such as the GAD-7, PHQ-9, and the CNIP are optional assessments designed to help the therapist assess your therapy preferences and emotional wellbeing prior to the first session. If you would like us to bill to your insurer on your behalf, then we also require your e-claims consent for service. If you do not want to fill out these optional forms, let us know!

What Should I Expect During My Therapy Session?
At the beginning of each session, we take a few minutes to fill out the ORS (Outcome Rating Scale) to see how you have been doing since we last met. Our session will look like collaborating on our agenda for the day, discussing and exploring the issue, and may include some practical work like practising a new exercise, trying a worksheet, doing roleplays, etc. You can expect to talk with your therapist about your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Your therapist may ask you questions about your past experiences, your relationships, and other aspects of your life. You may also be given homework assignments or other tasks to complete between sessions. At the end of a session we fill out the SRS (Session Rating Scale), to speak about how our session went and if anything was missed.

How Do I Prepare For My Therapy Session?
Before your therapy session, take a moment to think about what you’d like to talk about, and what you are hoping to get out of the discussion. You may want to make a note of any questions you have for your therapist.

Why Do You Record Sessions?
Recordings help your therapist remember important information so they can review information in between sessions. If you agree to have your therapy sessions
